Indianapolis – March 15 – President Trump along with Vice President Pence and other members of the Coronavirus Task Force gave another briefing today from the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room in The White House. President Trump took the podium first and first remarked about the Federal Reserve, “I want to congratulate the Federal Reserve,” Trump said of interest rate lowering. “People in the market should be very thrilled. We got it down to potentially zero.”
President Trump also addressed Google confirming it will have national coronavirus testing platform: “I’m sure you will apologize,” he said to reporters. Before leaving the briefing room, President Trump discouraged the hoarding of groceries. “You don’t have to buy so much,” he said. “Relax. We’re doing great. It all will pass.” Earlier today, President Trump, who spoke to grocery CEOs this afternoon, said “the stores are stocking up on a level that’s beyond Christmas time” and intend to remain open. Before leaving the podium, President Trump did not take any questions before handing the briefing off to Vice President Pence.
Other members from the coronavirus task force made remarks and Vice President Pence took a few questions from the press corp. Before leaving, Vice President Pence said there will be another briefing at the White House tomorrow morning, rather than in the evening.
